car scheme for SL migrant workers The Ministry of Labour and Foreign Employment has issued the application form for Sri Lankan migrant workers to import electric vehicles.
The Ministry had recently issued a circular outlining the criteria and regulations for the import of electric vehicles by Sri Lankan migrant workers.
As per the circular, migrant workers are allowed to import an electric vehicle, four-wheeler or two-wheeler, as an incentive to promote remittance through legal and formal channels.
Minister of Labour and Foreign Employment Manusha Nanayakkara said money transmitted from May 2022 is eligible for importation and will come to an end in December 2022.
